FAIRFIELD, CT — On the night of November 3, 2026, The Voice observed central count floor procedures and absentee ballot reconciliation inside the Fairfield election count facility. The continuous, unedited video above documents the physical layout of the room and the staging area in the corner where returned absentee ballot bins were held. The video was captured intentionally without audio to ensure the complete protection of personal identifying voter information (PII) and secret ballot selections on the floor.
During this observation, Registrar Matthew Waggner was asked where returned absentee ballots were held and pointed directly across the room to the corner bins. When asked the operative question: “When can we match them against the vote tallies?”, his direct answer on the record was: “Never.” An outside staff worker deployed to the room immediately followed up with verbal insults, repeatedly calling the observer an “idiot.” This entire exchange was ear-witnessed directly on the floor by multiple independent observers present, including Fairfield Town Plan and Zoning (TPZ) Commission Secretary Kathryn Braun and members of the press, including the Associated Press.
While preliminary numbers released to the press and published on unofficial web portals reflected a flat “0” for certified write-in candidates, the physical tabulator tape printed at the Fairfield University Bookstore Early Voting location (District 10) shows an undeniable official count: Total Paper Sheets Counted: 1,271, Secretary of the State Write-In: 1. Under Connecticut election statutes and standard optical-scan protocols, marked write-in ballots are diverted into a dedicated compartment for mandatory manual hand tallying. A certified return of zero directly contradicts the physical tape printed by the tabulator.
A formal 6-point inspection and preservation demand has been delivered. Electors and observers across Connecticut’s 169 municipalities are encouraged to inspect and photograph the tabulator tapes publicly posted at their precincts.
